Do You Read What You've Written?

No, except for the last couple of paragraphs I may have written for a scene to get going again. I will stop writing if I get to the end of a scene that has a cliffhanger ending. It's easy to pick that up again, propelling myself into the next scene. Otherwise, I try to stop somewhere in the middle of a scene. I don't really want to face a blank page at the start of a new scene or chapter. Because of where I tend to end scenes I do read a little to get me started again.

I have no plans to read what I've written until the whole book is done. My wife keeps asking me to read it, but I have refused to show it to her until it's done. (She's a little annoyed with me.)

  1. If I showed my Nano to anyone they would see masses of misspelled words and talking to myself corrections written out. I would never show it to anyone. I don't usually post an excerpt because I would have to work on it to make it legible. I might this year though because I expect to finish early. yay Nano. Nice blog. I like it. XD

  2. Yeah, there's that. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I wouldn't want anyone to see my mistakes. And I just don't want to talk about my novel with anyone. I've only shared the most basic plot and ideas I'm writing about. I'm doing this for me. If other people also like it when I'm all done with it, great. But for now, it's all mine. Thanks for the nice comments on the blog.
