So, it's the first day of my Spring Break. I've already gone grocery shopping, taken a shower, done some dishes, and thought about doing a load of laundry.
I've also done some more revising/editing on my NaNoWriMo novel. I'm going to try to finish it this week. I'm calling it draft 1.5, because I'm basically just coming up with the ending of my novel, which I didn't do before. As I got near the end, I knew that I was going to make at least one major change to the plot, which meant that I didn't quite know how my book was going to end. That's what I'm working on now, rewriting those scenes that I knew before I was going to change.
My novel follows three characters, my main character, and two other major characters. Since I decided to change one of those story arcs, that of the main character's son, I couldn't really finish the novel. So, now I'm (re)writing his plot line, and I've resurrected his mother, who died in the original version. Her death was one of the things that I knew I had to change. I just couldn't pull it off on an emotional level. I also found that I liked her as a character, wanted to write about her more, and discovered that I didn't really need her to die.
